HUMAN BEANS: The Full ‘BFG’ Trailer Is Here To Make You Weep Nostalgia

*breathes deeply into paper bag*

YOU GUYS. Our childhood has come full-circle, with the release of the trailer for Roald Dahl‘s seminal classic The BFG in its full, whizzpopper-y glory.
If you didn’t know it was getting a cinematic reboot (!!??), Mark Rylance voices everybody’s fave snot-eating, Sophie-loving friendly giant and the formidable Bloodbottler is being brought to life by the always-amazing Bill Hader.
With Steven Spielberg in the director’s chair, there’s no doubt it’s going to be a 10/10 trip into Dream Country.
Steven’s pumped about being tasked with bringing Dahl’s unparalleled imagination to the big screen.

“I think it was kind of genius of Roald Dahl to be able to empower the children. It was very, very brave of him to introduce that combination of darkness and light which was so much Disney’s original signature in a lot of their earlier works like in ‘Dumbo,’ ‘Fantasia,’ ‘Snow White’ and ‘Cinderella,’ and being able to do scary, but also be redemptive at the same time and teach a lesson, an enduring lesson, to everyone, it was a wonderful thing for Dahl to have done, and it was one of the things that attracted me to want to direct this Dahl book.”
The BFG hits cinemas June 30, 2016, which is also the 100th anniversary of Dahl’s birth.
We human beans could NOT be more excited.
