Kerry Packer is credited with putting international cricket in the spotlight (quite literally – he instigated the first day-night match played under lights). Channel Nine‘s upcoming two-part miniseries Howzat! Kerry Packer’s War is about how he revolutionised and monetised the game during the late Seventies with the introduction of his then called “supertests” and, later, the World Series Cricket which changed the game forever.
But let’s leave the sporting history for a moment and focus on the most important detail: HILARIOUS MOUSTACHES! Expect to see some of the finest lip ticklers of 1970s-80s Australian cricket brought to life from actors Clayton Watson and Damon Gameau as Ian and Greg Chappell, Brendan Cowell as Rod Marsh, Matthew Le Nevez as Dennis Lillee, with Lachy Hulme playing Packer.
