How Did Hugh Jackman Make His Money Last Year?

If you’re the kind of person who’d snoop through someone’s rubbish to work out how much money they make, Vanity Fair have unveiled their annual Hollywood Top 40, a compendium of film-only earnings from Hollywood’s richest fat cats people. As expected James Cameron was anointed richest person with $248 million in earnings while Johnny Depp topped all actors with $100 million. Elsewhere Kristen Stewart claimed the highest placed female spot, banking $28.5 million by looking at the ground and into space while covering her hands with her sleeves. Her supernatural costars placed highly too and though we appreciate the knowledge that being in Twilight can afford one inordinate sums of cash, our interest lies primarily in the earnings of our countryman Hugh Jackman.

Though the list omits his considerable ice tea money, Jackamn still cleared $14 million last year (placing him at 37th), the majority from a $9 million fee for starring in the ridiculous looking Real Steel. Elsewhere, $2 million came from butter-carving comedy, um, Butter. While $1.5 million a piece came from art house flick Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and older film revenue.

Jackman is currently using a portion of that $14 million to eat 6000 calories a day for Darren Aronofsky’s X-Men standalone, The Wolverine. All about the Benjamins and Big Macs!
