The First Official Look At House Of Gucci Has Jared Leto Morphing Into Full Creepy Uncle Mode

jarred leto gucci trailer official

The first posters and trailer for the upcoming House Of Gucci have been released, giving us an official look at the line-up of stars set to play the people involved in the iconic fashion house and surrounding Maurizio Gucci (played by Adam Driver), and the lead up to his assassination in 1995.

I know we said that Jared Leto looked 30 seconds to 65 in pap shots from shooting, but hoo boy these posters really show just how drastically he’s changed for the role of Paolo Gucci – the cousin of Maurizio.

Look, the word “unrecognisable” gets bandied about a fair bit but there’s really no other words I can use here

Check him out though. This picture nearly made me spit my coffee out he looks so bloody different.

In the Ridley Scott-directed film, Leto plays one of the other grandsons of the fashion house founder Guccio Gucci, With Paolo being one of the key family members who tried to wrangle control of the empire to modernise it.

After joining his father, Aldo Gucci (played by Al Pacino), in the company’s expansion into America, he was later fired from the Italian parent company by his uncle Rodolfo (played by Jeremy Irons) and then the American operations by his father.

At the time that Maurizio was killed by a hit-man hired by his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani (played by Lady Gaga), Paolo was 64 – so I reckon we can assume that Jared Leto’s character in the incoming film is going to be one cranky, jaded old bloke.

The film’s first trailer dropped this morning too, and hoo boy Leto’s straight-up looking like a Christmas ham stuffed into a too-small pink corduroy suit.

The internet lit up after seeing proper shots of Leto in his full makeup (and highly-probably prosthetics), equally as shook about his new look for the incoming film.

Hit the nail on the head with that last tweet there, you gotta admit it.

House Of Gucci is slated to hit cinemas in November 2021.
