As Donald Trump draws terrifyingly closer to securing the Republican nomination, we are reminded once again that a murdering, power-hungry sociopath would be a preferable option as President of the United States.
Yup, the crack marketing team behind House of Cards is well-aware that the current political landscape is providing a bang-on perfect backdrop to their Season 4 marketing campaign, rolling out ads that are basically President Frank Underwood‘s (Kevin Spacey) re-election campaign. Y’know – because there’s actual election campaigns being run in America right now. They’re dripping meta, and we’re all slipping (into it).
However, this latest teaser is the first to hint at things to come in the new season.
It features a hella dark throwback to Underwood murdering Zoe Barnes in Season 2, a plot line the show all but abandoned in Season 3. Is retribution coming for F. U. (lol) this season? Or are they just reminding us what a murderous bastard he can be? Or is it something else entirely?
Probably none-will-be revealed on March 4.
