Netflix Is Reportedly Devising ‘House Of Cards’ Spin-Offs And Vote 1 Claire

That was quick.

Reports have emerged that Netflix has been workshopping several House Of Cards spin-off concepts, a day after the show’s leading man Kevin Spacey was accused of an unwanted sexual advance on a 14-year-old boy.

Variety states one of the options being discussed is a series focusing on presidential aide Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly), whose feverish devotion to political heavyweight Frank Underwood (Spacey) has produced all manner of despicable outcomes.

The potential for the show’s universe to continue without the involvement of Spacey extends further than just Stamper, though. Two other potential off-shoots have been discussed; that’s handy, as the continuing political career of Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) seems capable of exploration.

That concept has been pretty soundly supported by Twitter users who appreciate the in-show universe, but not the man accused of gross sexual misconduct.

Eric Roth, who executive produced the first four seasons of House Of Cards, has been attached to the Stamper concept. Still, details about the other concepts remain nebulous.

Netflix and production company Media Rights Capital haven’t commented to Variety about the rumours.

News about the potential spin-offs comes after today’s revelation that House Of Cards will end after the upcoming sixth season, which is expected to air from the middle of next year.
