Before you read any further you should probably do what you came here for and watch the damn video because HOLY SHIT:
Nerds will notice a very prominent Mon Mothma, a bunch of Empire tech and plot points that date it before A New Hope and a whole lot of shit that looks like it will be super cool when it’s in a movie longer than 90 seconds.
Not coming out until December 16th this year, it’s still a little while away but close enough to stop us dying from waiting for Episode VIII, which won’t be out until December 2017 which seems like a long, long time away.
While Episode VIII is set to be directed by rising star Rian Johnson, Rogue One will be directed by Gareth Edwards, mostly known for his work on the kinda average 2014 reboot of Godzilla, but also received a lot of praise for his first feature length film, Monsters, a slow, pensive scifi film which he wrote, directed, shot AND did the special effects for.
The film will star Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Forest Whitaker and Australia‘s own Ben Mendelsohn.
