One of you plump children must’ve lit the black flame candle just in time for Halloween ‘coz a Hocus Pocus sequel is finally in development over at Disney, Variety reveals.
The long-awaited sequel to the 1993 fantasy comedy flick is being conjured for new streaming service Disney Plus.
Workaholics writer and co-producer Jen D’Angelo is reportedly on board to pen the bewitching script.
But here’s the cursed part: the OG actresses who portrayed the wicked Sanderson sisters, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, are not currently attached to the project.
However, Variety adds that Disney is hopeful that the three fabulous ladies may eventually become involved.
High School Musical mastermind Kenny Ortega directed the original from a script by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert, based on a story by Garris and David Kirschner.
Hocus Pocus was not a huge box office success, scoring just $39 million worldwide on a $28 million budget.
It did, however, become a cult classic over time and fans have been fanging for a sequel since the ’90s.
