Never one to let a minor ratings catastrophe get in the way of quality programming, the Seven Network have moved their stinker Restaurant Revolution to Thursday nights, and replaced it with cat videos. This is in no way a drill.
We’re got the exclusive first look at Cats Make You Laugh Out Loud, and drawing early conclusions, it’s going to land somewhere between ‘so bad it’s good’ and – apologies for the terrible pun – a total cat-astrophe. Oh yeah. We went there.
If watching every cat video you’ve already been emailed before – and hey, it might be, we’re not judging what you get up to on a Tuesday evening – then Cats Make You Laugh Out Loud airs at 7:30pm Tuesday nights. FYI, it includes a number of cat behaviour experts on hand to “analyse and explain the physiological characteristics of these most beloved pets.” Lord help us all.
It’s a brave new world of television programming we’re entering into, people: CMYLOL was “a ratings smash” in the UK, so either the presser is lying to us, or David Cameron blocked cat videos as well as porn.
Or, third option – this is actually quality television. What a time to be alive.
