Here’s Your First Look At AMC’s Breaking Bad Spinoff “Better Call Saul”

The word from the network? S’all good, man.

AMC has just released its first official Better Call Saul teaser.
The thirteen episode comedic drama series which has already been renewed for a second season will see Breaking Bad series regular Bob Odenkirk (Nebraska, The Spectacular Now, Fargo) reprise his role as the titular Goodman, the shadiest lawyer in Albuquerque, and tell the Saul Goodman origin story approximately six years before he first meets Walter White.
Per the network: “The series is set six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet.”

When we recently caught up with Odenkirk to discuss his role on FX’s Fargo, itself a spinoff series with delightful callbacks everywhere, he had this to say about who he wants to bring back with him.

“I like seeing Saul when he’s got his back to the wall. It’s fun to make wisecracks and be a crazy character but I think when he’s under pressure that’s when it’s most fun,” he said. “So for that reason I want Huell. I want to see Huell again. My muscle. I want him back. I don’t know if he’s in it or not. I just don’t know. I know Jonathan Banks is in it but that’s about it.”

Banks will indeed return as Mike Ehrmantraut, and so will series creator/showrunner Vince Gilligan who will co-helm the series along with senior Breaking Bad staff writer and the guy who invented Goodman, Peter Gould
