Overnight, as you may already be aware, devoted Scandal fan Lena Dunham did a guest spot on the show, as the author of a sexy tell-all book set to blow Washington wide open.
The guest spot was definitely a one-and-done type deal, thanks to the fact that Dunham’s character was killed off in dramatic and borderline hilarious fashion, having her throat slashed by a paranoid Huck.
Dunham, who was practically peeing herself with excitement at the thought of meeting a grisly end, went ahead and Instagrammed the following photos as soon as the show had aired on the east coast.
West coast fans, naturally, were pretty upset that she’d spoiled it for them, since the show had yet to air there, and took to Twitter as an outlet for their rage, vowing to unfollow her and rending their hair in frustration.
The episode featured plenty of sniping between Dunham’s character Sue and Kerry Washington‘s Olivia Pope, but the climactic death scene is what truly sent the internet into meltdown.
