Here’s About 7 Secs Of The ‘Friends’ Reunion Ya’ll Have A Hard-On For

Remember last month, when we announced the pants-shittingly good news that the ENTIRE ‘Friends’ cast – Monica, Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey – was reuniting as part of a one-off TV special to honour sitcom director James Burrows?
You were pumped, ‘cos they haven’t been in the same room for years and years and years and way too long, right?
Yeah, well then Matthew Perry said he’d probably only appear via pre-taped video because he’ll be rehearsing a play in London, and David Schwimmer did a David Schwimmer by pouring a big ‘ol bucket of cold water over any hope we still had.

“I mean, in no way is it a Friends reunion when one member is out of the country. But look, it’s a great event,” he said. “We all love James Burrows and I’m sure Matthew Perry would be there if he could, but he’s working in London. Maybe one day there will be [a reunion], but this will not be it.”

THANK YOU VERY MUCH DAVE SCHWIMMER.

We’ve been thrown a small bone, though, in the form of NBC‘s first look at the (almost) reunion, ft. Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, and Courteney Cox sitting together on a couch – not *that* couch, but you take what you’re given.
The preview for ‘Must See TV: An All-Star Tribute to James Burrows’, airing on Feb. 21, shows them cosying up like no time has passed and fielding qus from host Andy Cohen, the nature of which we’ll have to wait and see (ARE YOU TOGETHER IRL MONICA AND CHANDLER).
It’s VERY short – like blink-and-you’ll-miss-it – but, after so long a drought, seeing 5/6 in such close proximity is making us feel all tingly inside.
The preview also shows Cheers’ Ted Danson and Shelley Long sharing oxygen, ditto the guys from The Big Bang Theory and Will & Grace.
BASK IN THE NOSTALGIA.
