Heavyweight Fighter Deontay Wilder Beat Up a Racist Internet Troll

If you’re going to harass someone online, you’d better make sure they’re not going to turn around and beat the everloving crap out of you in real life. That’s a lesson that no-good internet punk Charlie Zelenoff learned the hard way, when his racist abuse of heavyweight fighter Deontay Wilder led to a real-life beatdown.

The story goes that Zelenoff had been hurling insults at WBC Continental Americas Heavyweight Champion Wilder for years – racially abusing him, threatening his family, just your typical internet d’bag behavior. The breaking point came recently, Wilder says, when the troll threatened to murder him, and “tape” his daughter’s mouth.

So, Wilder decided to go toe to toe with his abuser for real. They met at the Hollywood Boxing Gym last week, and needless to say, it did not go very well for the internet tough guy.

Zelenoff signed a waiver before the fight, and after proving his point in a fairly brief altercation, Wilder was gracious to his opponent. “I genuinely care for the guy,” he said, of the renowned troll. “I want him to stop [harassing people] before he messes with the wrong person. You never know who you’re dealing with.”

And that, as J. Walter Weatherman would say, is why you don’t hurl abuse at boxers on the internet.
