Perhaps sensing that they might be onto something and in keeping with the dictates of common sense and cash earning capabilities alike, HBO have confirmed that they’re renewing Game of Thrones for a fifth and sixth season and, if we’re being honest, a seventh and eight after that, and, if George R.R. Martin has his way, a movie.
“Game of Thrones is a phenomenon like no other,” noted HBO Programming president Michael Lombardo of the network’s highest rating program since the Sopranos‘ finale in 2007. “[Series creators] David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, along with their talented collaborators, continue to surpass themselves, and we look forward to more of their dazzling storytelling.”
