Now that Disney+ is rolling out a brand new set of Marvel stories to establish a brand new era of iconic heroes and villains, there is a lot of exciting material in the pipeline for us to sink our teeth into. One of these shows to get excited about is Hawkeye, which promises to introduce us to some exciting new characters.

Even if you aren’t a fan of Marvel, you really do have to start tuning into the shows that are being pumped out by Disney+, because they are truly exceptional. I’m talking WandaVision, Loki and the brand new animated series What If…?

Exceptional stuff going around, and Hawkeye is sure to be no less of a good time. So, without further ado, here is absolutely everything we know about Disney+’s upcoming series, Hawkeye.

When is Hawkeye coming out?

Well, nobody really knows, but what we do know is that it won’t be long until we get to witness this spectacle for ourselves. Disney has been rather vague with their release dates, slating Hawkeye for “fall 2021”, which equates to our springtime.

At the time of writing, Disney+ is currently dropping weekly episodes of their new Marvel series What If…? so it’s unlikely that we’ll see Hawkeye make an appearance until that comes to an end.

So yeah, expect a late 2021 arrival with weekly episode drops and a huge old budget. I mean seriously, these Disney+ Marvel shows have looked as good as the movies recently.

Hailee Steinfeld (who plays a main character) dropped a BTS post saying “see you November 24th”, but this could very well be referencing a trailer, which we still don’t have.

Who is in the Hawkeye cast?

Jeremy Renner will obviously be returning as the titular character Hawkeye, but this time around he’ll be joined by Hailee Steinfeld, who plays the very important Kate Bishop, also known as, yep you guessed it, Hawkeye.

Yep, the show will revolve around Hawkeye and his protege, er, Hawkeye, who is his female sidekick that eventually takes the mantle from our main guy and continues to kick ass in his name.

We stan an absolute badass.

Florence Pugh will also be making an appearance, reprising her role as Yelena Bolova from the recently released Black Widow film.

No spoilers, but if you watch the film, you’ll know exactly why Pugh will be making an appearance in this film, which is super exciting.

Vera Farmiga will be joining the film as Eleanor Bishop, wealthy as fuck mother of Kate Bishop, our female Hawkeye.

Meanwhile, Alaqua Cox will be joining the franchise as Maya Lopez, who is the alter-ego name of Echo, a Native American and deaf hero in the Marvel universe. Echo plays a consistent role in quite a few comic books, so it’ll be interesting to see what Disney decides to do with her in the Hawkeye series.

She’s also going to be getting her own series in the future, so keep an eye on her.

Then we’ve got one of the confirmed villains of the series, Kazimierz Kazimierczak, better known as the Clown, or Kazi, who will be played by Fra Fee.

Clown is basically a circus performer turned ruthless assassin after a series of traumatic events, and he becomes hired by multiple crime bosses to kill Hawkeye, which leads to the events most likely to transpire in the show.

One of these crime bosses is Kingpin, the man who killed Echo’s father and took her in as an ‘adoptive daughter’ of sorts, so chances are we’ll see an appearance from him as well to connect the two.

Also, did I mention that Fra Fee, the actor playing Clown, is fucking hot as hell?

God, I cannot believe that I have to witness this hottie as a murderous clown. We truly cannot have it all in life.

Also, a lucky good doggo named Jolt will be playing Lucky, who also goes by Pizza Dog.

And yes, Pizza Dog is a very important character who we will surely fall in love with.

What’s it about?

This part is a complete mystery, but judging by the characters who will appear, we can make some educated guesses.

It’s clear that Clown and Echo are important characters, so assumedly so is Kingpin and the ‘Tracksuit Draculas’, a bunch of menacing lackeys who wear tracksuits, wield guns and always say ‘bro’.

The show will clearly be setting Kate Bishop up as the next mainstay Hawkeye, possibly pulling the plug on Renner’s run in the Marvel movies.

Some folks reckon that the series will take direct inspiration from the 2012-2015 Hawkeye comic series which was drawn by Aja and Annie Wu. One of the main reasons for this is the fact that the intro sequence to the show, revealed by Renner himself, shares the same art style.

Of course, Disney doesn’t always interpret the comics page-by-page. This is why Florence Pugh’s character Yelena Bolova makes an appearance despite never doing so in the comics.

It’s a nice little link to the Black Widow film and Avengers films that actually makes a lot of sense, but again, no spoilers.

We’ve also seen some sneaky behind the scenes pics and vids online of the Hawkeye cast in action, and it already looks like Steinfeld’s role is going to be badass comedic relief, and I’m more than here for it.

We’ll update this yarn as we find out more about Hawkeye, but in the meantime, now is a good chance to catch up on the other hot Marvel shows that Disney+ is offering. Sign up right HERE to catch TF up.
