If the original Netflix version didn’t already have you shitting your dacks, don’t worry because The Haunting of Hill House is copping an even more fucked extended cut.
Netflix shows barely ever get physical releases, because everyone except my mum is happy to just stream them. And on the off chance that something like The Crown gets a physical release, we RARELY get any extended cuts or bonus features. Probably because Netflix doesn’t really cater for those of us still scouring the shelves of JB Hifi for a new movie to watch.

But The Haunting of Hill House IS getting a physical Blu-Ray release. AND it’ll feature an extended cut that’ll leave even the biggest horror fans sleeping with the light on.
Amblin shared the news on Twitter over the weekend.
Good news, @haunting fans! Just listed, new to the market. Why lease when you can own a lovely estate like Hill House, now even more spacious with director @flanaganfilm’s extended cut of the series! Preorder now, this House is priced to move.https://t.co/2E02P76lAs

According to Bloody Disgusting, the Blu-Ray release will include extended versions of a number of episodes, which director Mike Flanagan refers to as “restoring several episodes to their true form.”
Flanagan tweeted over the weekend that the news got leaked a little earlier than planned, so I doubt it’ll be ready for release anytime soon, but it’s still cool to see an extended cut making it to the shelves. Apparently the version we saw on Netflix wasn’t the director’s first choice. But I’m not sure I’m ready to see Flanagan’s fucked up version.
Well this news got out there a LITTLE earlier than we wanted… but yes, it’s true! More details to come, but it was a blast restoring several episodes to their original form. Hope you all enjoy! https://t.co/svyPirSIMi

We don’t have an official release date, or a number of episodes that’ll cop the extended cut just yet. However, we’ve already confirmed a sequel to the terrifying show, so hopefully the extended cut comes out before then.
Season 2, entitled The Haunting of Bly Manor is expected to begin production in 2020. It’ll feature a new cast, new storyline and new setting.
Am I sleeping with the light on tonight? You betcha!
