The Project host Hamish Macdonald has posted a sweet tribute to his boyfriend Jacob Fitzroy, days after the couple made their public debut on the red carpet at the GQ Gentlemen’s Ball in Melbourne.
“I’m always so proud to stand beside my best friend and favourite human,” he wrote. “And while I hope that one day soon it won’t be newsworthy to hold the hand of the person you love, for now, we’d both like to say thank you for the overwhelming messages of love and support.”

38-year-old Hamish Macdonald has shared photos of Fitzroy on social media, referring to him as his “favourite human”. The GQ ball, at which he served as the moderator for a panel discussion, was the first time they were photographed at an event as a couple.
