The Sydney season of Hamilton officially kicks off this month, which means you can now register for the $10 ticket lottery. Woohoo.
Musical buffs will know that a handful of Broadway shows offer heavily discounted lottery tickets that you’d usually have to line up for. Basically you submit your name into a lottery drawing and if selected, you can purchase one or two discounted show tickets.
Luckily, Hamilton Australia is also offering lottery tickets but in a COVID-safe way.
How to register for the Hamilton lottery
To register for Sydney Hamilton tickets you’ll need the TodayTix app. The lottery will open at 12:01am every Friday and entry will close at 1pm the Thursday for the following week’s performances.
You can only enter for up to two tickets, and of course there is no guarantee your name will be drawn.
What happens if your name gets drawn?
If your name gets drawn, you will be notified between 1-4pm on that Thursday when entries close. BUT you will only have one hour to nab your $10 lottery tickets, otherwise they’ll be offered to the next eligible entrant.
How many times can you enter the lottery?
As many times throughout the season as you want, but each time you can only win two tickets (so pick your mate wisely).

The musical about forgotten American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton is a Tony Award, Grammy Award, Olivier Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning stage production. OOFT. So it’s no wonder everyone shat their dacks when they knew they could finally watch.
Of course, nothing is as good as seeing it live, so it’s good news that the show has finally made its way down under.
