2019 got off to a shady start for your fave ~elusive~ couple Hailee Steinfeld and Niall Horan after an Instagram Story by the American actress led peeps to believe that she and the One Direction singer may be donezo.

On New Year’s, the Bumblebee star shared a quote on her IG Story, originally shared by her pal Julia Michaels, that read, “New Years resolution: No more dating narcissists” and captioned the post: “God bless you @juliamichaels. Preach it.”

She fired off a bunch of additional screenshots from an article detailing the personality of narcissists including how they are “likely to be charming and full of affection” at the beginning before “losing interest.”
The piece adds that narcissists are “masters of manipulation” who “twist any situation to make their victims feel ashamed, guilty and responsible for everything that’s gone wrong.”
The article also brings up some concerning points, including the fact that they “abuse” their partner and uses them as a “punching bag – both metaphorically and literally.”
Hailee’s post was immediately met with a ton of concerned tweets from fans who took it to mean that the pair split up due to Niall’s alleged narcissism.

Following all the concerned tweets, and an all-out war that broke out on social media between Niall stans and Hailee stans, the 22-year-old actress took to Twitter to insist that there were “no hidden messages” in her posts and that there’s “nothing but love”, although she doesn’t mention Niall directly so it’s hard to say whether or not they’re still together and also if the ~narcissist~ in question is the baben’ boy bander.

Steinfeld and Horan were first linked in early 2018 after being spotted together at London’s West End production of Hamilton. From that point on they continued to spark dating rumours after being photographed together looking v. ~coupley~ on many an occasion.
An insider told Us Weekly that the pair split in December, which very much fuels this fire tbh.
“They split months ago,” the source said last month. “Niall wrapped up his tour and had more free time, but Hailee’s work schedule really ramped up, so they didn’t have time for a relationship. They still have a lot of love for each other.”
