Grey’s Anatomy Is Bringing Back Another Beloved Dead Character & I Can’t Wait To Cry A River

Grey's Anatomy

Folks, Grey’s Anatomy is bringing back another beloved character from the dead, because this show loves to shit on our hearts. Who is it this time? LEXIE.

According to DeadlineChyler Leigh will reprise her role as Lexie Grey, Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) half-sister, nine whole years after she left the show.

Lexie will feature in the April 1st episode, as part of this season’s recurring dream theme (of pain).

Cop the episode teaser below.

God.

This isn’t the first dream meeting between Meredith and a beloved character from the past, while she battles COVID-19 in hospital.

She was reunited with the love of her life, Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) on the beach, as well as – and I’m already tearing up just thinking about it – George O’Malley (T.R. Knight).

McDreamy carked it in season 11 after being hit by a semi truck when he pulled over to help a family injured in a car crash. O’Malley died in season 5 after he jumped in front of a bus to rescue a woman he didn’t know.

I haven’t tuned into Grey‘s in a very long time, but that’s only because I’m just not emotionally strong enough. I actually stopped watching Grey‘s for a while after Lexie died, because it was just so heartbreaking.

Her character tragically passed away in the season 8 finale after she was crushed by debris from a plane crash during that horrible, horrible episode. Mark Sloan (Eric Dane), who also ended up bloody dying, professed his love to Lexie during her final moments.

Seattle Grace Mercy West was renamed the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in their honour.

Relive it if you want.

I’m sorry (I’m not), but that was sadder than Derek’s death scene. I said what I said.

You can find Grey’s Anatomy seasons 1 to 14 on Stan now. For seasons 15 to 17, head on over to Disney+, with new episodes released weekly on Fridays.
