New Greta Thunberg Helpline Gives Boomers A Place To Vent Their Rage

Greta Thunberg

There are a lot of angry boomers who have a lot of feelings about teen climate activist Greta Thunberg, and nowhere to put them other than in the comments sections of Facebook and various News Corp publications.

To quote every informercial ever – isn’t there another way?

There is now, thanks to Mark Humphries. Last night on the ABC‘s 7.30, the satirist debuted a new dedicated helpline – a place for adults to vent their anger at a child who is trying to bring attention to the issue of climate change.

The commercial takes aim at a number of key Great Thunberg gripes. “We shouldn’t be listening to a child, we should be listening to an expert,” says one angry caller, who then hangs up on the call centre representative who offers to connect him to one.

The young activist herself retweeted the video approvingly, saying “Hang in there! Help is available!”

Thunberg took to Twitter overnight to address the fact that many critics are coming after her for “my looks, my clothes, my behaviour and my differences.”

“It seems they will cross every possible line to avert the focus, since they are so desperate not to talk about the climate and ecological crisis,” she continued.

“I honestly don’t understand why adults would choose to spend their time mocking and threatening teenagers and children for promoting science, when they could do something good instead. I guess they must simply feel so threatened by us.”
