Dev Patel Is A Knight In The Trailer For His New Film & My Chastity Belt Just Undid Itself

A24 has unleashed its brand new trailer for The Green Knight, and all I really have to say right now is that Dev Patel is in it. That’s the intro.

Like just about every other movie I can think of, The Green Knight was supposed to come out last year. It’s now slated for release this July (COVID-willing).

The Green Knight is an epic fantasy adventured based on the Arthurian legend and tells the story of one Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew.

Sir Gawain sets off on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a huge-ass, emerald-skinned stranger and “tester of men”. Along the way, he comes face to face with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers as he discovers who he really is and proves his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom.

The film co-stars Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider), Joel Edgerton (Loving), Sarita Choudhury (Mississippi Masala), Sean Harris (that creepy guy from the most recent Mission Impossible films), Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones), Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk), and Ralph Ineson, who I vividly remember as one of the Death Eaters from the last few Harry Potter movies.

The Green Knight is directed by David Lowery, who helmed that live-action version of Disney’s Pete’s Dragon. Expect it in cinemas come July 30, 2021.

Well, bloody hell, that really is a big green… thing.

How good are the character posters, though? Dev looks so handsome as a knight.

Look at all of these character posters, actually. They’re just so striking.

Naturally, I’ve fallen down a bit of a Green Knight hole now and have just discovered that A24 released a themed candle.

The scent of the Fantasy Genre candle was inspired by enchanted forests, alchemy, dungeon musk (?), molten metal (??), wet ash (???), mist and green clover-covered hillsides, and shining armour.

That’s a, uh, combination of armoise, birch tar, Virginia cedarwood, lily of the valley, Canadian fir needle, tonka, and vanilla beans.

Not gonna lie, I can absolutely see this on my #Bookstagram shelf. Let’s… not talk about the price, or shipping cost.
