The Gossip Girl Reboot Trailer Is Here & It’s Legit Making Us Miss High School (Jokes, Fk That)

Gossip Girl Reboot

IT’S FINALLY HERE: the trailer for the Gossip Girl reboot has arrived and I am giddy with excitement.

The Gossip Girl reboot follows a new generation of Upper East Side teenagers, living their best life in Manhattan. The reboot cast is *chef’s kiss* and no hate to the previous cast (because I still love them), but the diversity in this one has made my brown ass extremely happy.

With a new generation of teens, a new Gossip Girl xoxo is born and just like the original series she is hell-bent on fucking up the lives of the elite #girlboss. Instead of a website, the new gossip GOAT uses an anon Instagram account to wreak havoc, and it reminds me of how our fallen queen Celeb Spellcheck used to roll.

Judging by trailer the new series will be full of sex, backstabbing and ICONIC fashion. There will be a lot of sloppy seconds and sloppy thirds, so if that isn’t an accurate representation of high school then I don’t know what is.

Of course, Frank Ocean‘s ‘Super Rich Kids’ is the opening track for the trailer, because these super rich kids do have nothing but fake friends.

Just like the original series, the new cast are absurdly attractive for teenagers and are allowed to accessorise their uniforms (unlike any school in Australia). I wish I could’ve worn hoop earrings to school with little high heeled boots, but I guess the world just isn’t fair.

The cast includes: Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith. I also may or may not already have a crush on Evan Mock and his gorgeous pink hair.

Kristen Bell will also be returning to narrate the series, and this is welcome news because I’ve missed her after The Good Place ended in 2019.

Gossip Girl will premiere July 8 on Binge.
