SBS’s brilliant documentary series Go Back to Where You Came From will return for a second series of racist take-downs and first world reality checks.
The series gave SBS the highest ratings of the year, and with the show’s grass roots approach to the highly contentious issue of refugees and asylum seekers in Australia we, the viewers, were in equal parts compelled and repelled by what we saw. Remember Raquel and her enduring, horrific “fuck off we’re full” attitude? And the 180-degree ideological turnaround of Raye, who transformed from a staunchly anti-refugee to asylum seeker advocate?
We hope to see the follow-up series hit screens via SBS in 2012.
