A Girl Expertly Singing All The Parts To ‘Crush’ Is Twitter’s New Fave Thing

Twitter is home to a lot of bullshit – most notably Donald Trump‘s account, and all those blue-ticked Nazis – but every now and then it throws up a perfectly pure piece of internet culture. Like this video, by a 17-year-old student from Singapore called Irny Irdina:

Is there anything more relatable than busting out your best vocal performance in the bathroom, only to be thwarted by the fact that your chosen song has a bunch of overlapping parts? Probably, but this ranks pretty high up there in the relatable charts – as evidenced by the massive response to Irdina’s original masterpiece of a vid.

Irdina’s gift to the world got so hyped, in fact, that it got all the way back to the person responsible for the song she’s singing: David Archuleta.

Yes, that is the singer of ‘Crush‘ recreating a fan’s video of herself singing all the parts to ‘Crush’. 2017, maybe you’re not so bad.

As for Irdina, she seems pleasantly taken aback by the huge reaction to her genius video, telling Buzzfeed:

I have a pretty small following on Twitter, so I didn’t expect many retweets. Most of the time, it would be my sister and her friends supporting me, so I was expecting five or seven retweets at best. Oh boy was I wrong!

When I saw that David Archuletta quoted and retweeted my video, I thought it was fake. To confirm, I went to his Twitter profile and lo and behold! I was getting ready for school and I started screaming and jumping. I told my sisters and they reacted the same way. This all took place at 7am in the morning. It feels surreal that he actually saw it, so I’m really thankful. I didn’t expect it to get to him because I didn’t even tag him.

Remi Malik, so help me god, you better do the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody‘ version of this in the lead up to the Freddie Mercury biopic. YOU BETTER.
