Gina Carano has hit back after she was dropped from The Mandalorian for writing controversial posts on social media, and revealed she is collaborating with *checks notes* Ben Shapiro.
Yep, that ultra right-wing conservative Ben Shapiro who went viral for criticising the lyrics of WAP is now working on a new movie project with Carano. Name a more iconic duo…NOT.
The ex-Mandalorian star will develop, produce and star in the upcoming film, which will be exclusively available to members of Shapiro’s website The Daily Wire.
“The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered,” Carano told Deadline.
“I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”
After being ‘canceled’ it makes sense why Shapiro would want to have Carano on side, as he has been very vocal about cancel culture in the past.
“We could not be more excited to be working with Gina Carano, an incredible talent dumped by Disney and Lucasfilm for offending the authoritarian Hollywood Left. This is what Daily Wire exists to do: provide an alternative not just for consumers, but for creators who refuse to bow to the mob,” Shapiro said.
Carano was fired from season three of The Mandalorian, following a string of controversial social media posts.
Lucasfilm released a statement on Thursday confirming the news, labelling her social media posts “abhorrent” and “unacceptable.”
In one Instagram story, she shared a post that compared Jewish persecution under Nazi Germany to being a Republican in today’s political climate.
as a jewish person, this is fucking vile and unnecessary. gina carano needs to be held accountable. the oppression my people have faced because of our religion and ethnicity is NOT the same as political disagreements. pic.twitter.com/ABuM8kO5hM
