Get Around This Teaser For The Epic Scorsese Exhibition Comin’ To Melbs

Ladies and gentlemen, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image just come through.

As if the cinema gods decided to unleash all their positive vibes at once, ACMI have unleashed the first video sneak-peek of their full-on Martin Scorsese exhibition, featuring A+ artefacts from some of the the greatest films of the modern era.

For those keeping score at home, we’re set to ogle over BTS goodness from Taxi Driver and Goodfellas, all the way to the results of his rich DiCaprio bromance – Gangs Of New York, The Aviator, The Departed and The Wolf Of Wall Street included.

SCORSESE promises to overload Aussie cinephiles with over six hundred bits of bona-fide Hollywood goodness, including scripts rife with hand-scribbled annotations, unused production stills, some aaabsolutely plush costumes. Oh yeah, on-set shots of Leo are headed way too, and if that’s not enough to spruce your goose, we don’t know what will.

The director’s collabs with other lesser-known creatives like Robert De Niro will also be examined, along with the long-running relationships he’s fostered with the cinematographers, editors and designers who have made his grungy-beautiful worlds explode on-screen.
Well, it opens on Thursday 26 May in Melbourne, through to September, which almost seems like a long enough time to absorb it all. Almost. You can go home and get your fuckin’ shinebox tickets here. Before then, get hype on the exhibition’s brand-spankers teaser trailer:
