George R.R. Martin Might Be Announcing He’s Done W/ Book #6 In T-Minus 1 Hr

George R.R. Martin must, at this point, be very seriously considering giving up on the entire ‘A Song of Ice and Fire‘ series and just TELLING us what happens.

Every time the poor man so much as breathes without working on ‘Winds of Winter‘, he cops a savaging like nothing else.

But now – and we don’t mean to alarm you – he might VERY WELL BE ANNOUNCING HE’S FINISHED THE BOOK AT THE DAMN ‘GAME OF THRONES‘ S7 PREMIERE. IN LIKE AN HOUR. HOLY SHIT.

Observe, the evidence:

FEBRUARY 24.

Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth, drops that “something special” is happening at the S7 premiere this year. A new book announcement, perhaps?

JULY 8.

Martin blogs that he’s been “working so much of late” that he hasn’t had time to consume other media. Why would he be working so much? He’s turned down major projects to keep going with his ASOIAF lot in the past. What’re you working on, hey George?

He marked his mood as ‘pleased’ on LiveJournal. He’s also the last person to still be using LiveJournal.

JULY 9.

Twitter user BryndenBFish, who’s made something of a name of himself for tracking Martin’s novels and their ever-moving release dates, tweets this.

He’s essentially the one who got the ball rolling for the evidence on July 8. We owe a lot to Brynden.

JULY 11.

Martin hits back at fans angry that he’s working on the TV adaptation of Nnedi Okorafor‘s ‘Who Fears Death‘, when he COULD be doing things like typing out words for WoW.

“As usual, however, the internet is blowing this story all out of proportion, at least in regards to my own participation,” he wrote.

“I will be an Executive Producer on WHO FEARS DEATH but I will not be the Executive Produce, i.e. the showrunner. That’s an important distinction. Should we move forward, there will be a number of Executive Producers, and probably some Co-Executive Producers and Supervising Producers and Producers as well. This is television.

“I will not be writing the pilot script or adapting Nnedi’s novel, and it’s doubtful that I will write any episodes should we go to series. Look, I probably won’t be writing episodes of ANY television shows until WINDS OF WINTER is done and delivered, and that goes for the five GAME OF THRONES successor shows as well.”

Get that? No work on anything until the book is done.

JULY 13, A.K.A. TODAY.

Martin drops some motherfukken’ hints.

“Alas, alas, that great city Valyria, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come,” he blogs, along with an artwork of some dragons going to town on the city.

The S7 premiere is happening in Los Angeles right the fuck now. “In one hour….” till you announced you’ve finally finished writing, George?

He marked his mood ‘enigmatic’ like the fucking troll he is.

Who bloody knows. It could be nothing. It could be everything.
