‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8 Finally Has A Release Date & A New Teaser

Here it is, folks. You can mark your calendars in permanent marker at long last. HBO has finally revealed exactly when Game of Thrones will return to screens for its long-awaited final season. React/scream/shit pants accordingly.

The series last put a new episode to air on August 27, 2017, and since then fans have had to endure an agonising year-and-a-half wait without knowing when the eighth, and final, season will arrive.

Now, the wait is over. Thanks to a wild new teaser, we know that the last ever season of Game of Thrones will premiere on the evening of Sunday, April 14th in the US, meaning it’ll be hitting screens here in Australia on Monday, April 15th.

You hear me? APRIL FOURTEENTH IN THE US. APRIL FIFTEENTH HERE IN AUSTRALIA.

That announcement and confirmation came at the tail end of a tense-looking teaser – the first official one dropped for the new season – entitled Crypts of Winterfell; an apparently specifically shot scene that’s only meant to whet the appetites of audiences and won’t actually feature in the season itself.

Still, it kicks ass. And you should very much prepare yourself to lose it.

The final season of Game of Thrones will feature just 6 episodes, but all will be pushing feature film-length of up to 90 minutes. One episode in particular is speculated to contain the largest battle sequence in the history of the series.

Not with a whimper, by any means.

Just to repeat, and so it’s not forgotten: April 14th US time. April 15th Australian time. The end arrives then, and not a moment before.

Brace yourselves, folks. It’s finally coming.
