You Can Let Go Of Your Self-Isolation Boredom ‘Coz Disney+ Is Dropping ‘Frozen 2’ Early

If you’ve already exhausted your Netflix and Stan catalogues in coronavirus isolation, you’re in luck because the legends at Disney are dropping Frozen 2 three months early as a little treat.

On Friday afternoon, Disney announced their decision to release the highly-anticipated film on Disney+ three months earlier than expected to help us all let go of the coronavirus boredom.

According to a statement from Disney, the early release is designed to cheer us all up amid the COVID-19 pandemic and give us all “some fun and joy during this challenging period.”

“‘Frozen 2’ has captivated audiences around the world through its powerful themes of perseverance and the importance of family, messages that are incredibly relevant during this time, and we are pleased to be able to share this heartwarming story early with our Disney+ subscribers to enjoy at home on any device,” Disney CEO Bob Chapek said.

Honestly, this is a gift to children (and adult children) everywhere. What better to boost your spirits during self-isolation than a good ol’ fashioned Disney sing-a-long?

Disney is dropping Frozen 2 on Disney+ on Sunday March 15 in the US, with Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and New Zealand all getting our hands on it on Tuesday, March 17.

Frozen 2 currently takes the cake for the highest-earning animated film of all time, raking in a staggering $1.4 billion at the box office. Even if you’re not a Disney princess fan (I’m not sure who WOULDN’T be), it’s clearly worth a watch if you’re stuck in isolation and want a bit of cheering up.

If, like me, you’ve already binge-watched every Disney princess film and DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) since Disney+ entered our lives earlier this year, you’ve got at least 90 minutes of new content to enjoy on Tuesday.

If you haven’t already tried Disney+, you can get your hands on a free trial for 7 days, which will at least get you through the first half of your coronavirus isolation.
