For His Final Appearance On Letterman, Bill Murray Arrived Completely Baked

Legitimate genius Bill Murray – whose secret middle name has long been rumoured to be “FKN” – has had a long and tenured working relationship with David Letterman and The Late Show.

When Letterman debuted on CBS – following the first incarnation of the feud with Jay Leno – Murray was his first guest. Fitting it is then that now as Letterman prepares to retire, Murray serves as his last (official) guest.
Murray developed a knack for appearing on the show in elaborate, ridiculous costumes for no reason other than the sheer fun of it, and with the last appearance the living legend himself went all out, being rolled onto the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theatre concealed within a giant cake – which he then proceeded to pop out of and smear all over Dave, the band, the audience, and anyone else he could get his battered hands onto.

Letterman’s final ever show airs tomorrow Australian time, and is being billed as “an hour of surprises.”
The end of a glorious era is just about here, friends.
