Here’s the first look at Russell Crowe as Noah, the eponymous ark builder from Darren Aronofsky’s Biblical epic of the same name. While Crowe’s Noah looks pretty much exactly like Regular Russell Crowe, or exactly what you might expect from an Old Testament epic, you can rest assured that Aronofsky’s retelling of the tale from Genesis will be anything but regular.
The Twitter savvy Aronofsky tweeted a picture of the ark under construction a month ago, and this looks like it’s going to be epic in every sense of the word. Noah will also star Hermione Emma Watson, Requiem For A Dream’s Jennifer Connelly as Mrs. Noah; swords and sandals aficionado Logan Lerman and the Burberry fine-boned Douglas Booth as Noah’s sons; Anthony Hopkins as Oldest Guy Ever Methuselah, and Breaking Bad’s Emmy-nominated Hector Mark Margolis *ding!* who has appeared in every Aronofsky film to date.
