Truly, this is something to behold.

Last year, Netflix announced that they would be turning the beloved / creepy children’s books Lemony Snicket’s ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events‘ into a TV show, and a little while later that Neil Patrick Harris would play the scheming Count Olaf.

And while we all got pranked by this A+ trailer that turned out to be fan-made (uh, given that filming had not yet begun yet, we *perhaps* should have been a bit more suspect), this is the real deal: the first pics of NPH in character are here and holy shit holy shit holy shit they are both disturbing and excellent in the extreme.

Christ. We will never look at NPH in the same way again.
Anyway, ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ is set to hit Netflix later this year, with Louis Hynes and Malina Weissman as Klaus and Violet Baudelaire.
No word yet on who will play baby Sunny, but FWIW we’d be chill if they switched up her gender and cast one or both of NPH’s kids in the role.
