Finding Dory Announces More Cast Members, Releases First Image

Following an announcement at the D23 expo overnight—revealing the plot details of Toy Story 4—Disney/Pixar have also dropped the most significant information on Finding Nemo sequel Finding Dory since it was officially announced in April 2013.

While some 8000 fans were lucky to see very the first glimpses of Finding Dory in exclusive clips introducing new characters, the internet has most definitely not delivered with a leaked version, so the first official image from the film will, at this point, have to do.

The first look poses more questions than it answers, re: Dory being in a fish tank; a picture of Darla clearly on the wall, and an octopus going rogue in what looks like a science lab.

Furthering previous cast announcements of Ellen De Generes (Dory), Diane Keaton (Dory’s mum), Eugene Levy (Dory’s Dad) and The Wire alumni Dominic West and Idris Elba (characters TBA), Pixar also announced:

  • Modern Family‘s Ed O’Neill as Hank, an angry octopus (pictured above);
  • Modern Family‘s Ty Burrell, as a beluga whale called Bailey;
  • It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Kaitlin Olson as Destiny – the whale shark who is convinced she’s a whale.
The image projected behind Olson, De Generes and Burrell below is undoubtedly showing Destiny – and HOLY SHIT SHE’S SO FKN CUTE. :’)

Finding Dory is slated for a June 2016 release.
