Due to popular demand, gay and lesbian couples have been granted the option to set their Facebook relationship status to ‘Civil Union’.
In a move that will further distinguish the realms of the social world from the physical, gay and lesbian couples can freely label their commitment to their partner in the online format – despite countries such as Australian and the United States still firmly refusing to acknowledge gay matrimony.
The social possibilities within Facebook are seemingly incalculable as Mark Zuckerberg continues to remove boundaries. While Socialism has been fundamentally flawed throughout history, the internet version of it is still relatively untested and if used effectively could prove invaluable to the harmony of man.
