Ex-Bachelorette Heather Maltman Slayed Her Co-Hosting Gig On ‘The Project’

Australia is of the general opinion that newly-impoverished Bachie Sam Wood made a giant boo-boo when he didn’t give a rose to people’s favourite Heather Maltman on The Bachelor last week.
She’s hot, smart, funny AF (when she’s not calling blokes “dude”) and calls things as she sees them, which is 90% more than you can say about 90% of contestants on previous seasons of TEN‘s reality cashcow.
Tapping into the country’s apparent Maltman-fever, The Project invited her to co-host tonight’s show, and guess what – she bloody well nailed it, which is cool because she’s an aspiring actor who’s no doubt aware this type of runoff fame dies on the ass after 15 mins (unless you’re BBAU’s Tully Smyth. Hey, Tully).
For starters, just *look* at how well she fits in with legends Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar:

Gurllllll, you’re a natural. And nice hand-folding.

Secondly, she was her usual self-deprecating self, staging a really nerdy rap hands-meets-robot dance while maintaining her sex appeal – the benchmark of a successful career in TV.

She also made jokes at the expense of her one-time BF, Bachie Wood, and the show’s Hunger Games format without coming off as bitter.

When Pete asked her if she made any genuine friends on the show, Heather quipped:

“Pete, I remain friends with all of the girls that I share a boyfriend with.”

Viewers couldn’t get enough of her, TBH.

YEAH SAM, YOU DER HEAD.

To cap off an impressive hour that’s almost guaranteed to lead to a hosting gig, Heather did ‘The Beauty Queen Wave’ when Waleed & co. presented her with a fuck-off bunch of red roses as a ‘Thanks for being a champ and well done on dodging a bullet’.
In short, Heather is solid proof that there *is* a way back from being dumped by a guy who reckons a date is dressing up in superhero costumes for a round of jelly wrestling… and for three other women at that.
To feed your own personal Maltman-mania, follow Heather on Twitter, where she’s busy being awesome as of two days ago.
