It turns out Ewan McGregor isn’t just a pretty face – he’s also a bit of an alright bloke.
McGregor was set to appear on the show ‘Good Morning Britain‘ to spruik his upcoming film, ‘Trainspotting 2‘ (which I am SO ready for), until he learned the interviewer was going to be Piers Morgan.
For those of you who are unaware, Morgan is one of the true monsters Britain has created. He served as a hyper-critical judge on ‘America’s Got Talent‘, won ‘Celebrity Apprentice‘ in 2008, was blatantly transphobic towards trans activist Janet Mock on-air, and has repeatedly shamed and vilified the entirety of the Kardashian family.
In other words, he is truly the worst.
What really got under McGregor’s skin was Morgan’s comments about the Women’s Marches that occurred over the past week. Not only did Morgan write this scathing column (which perpetuates his longstanding feud with Madonna; FFS, I hate this guy), but he also called for an alternative Men’s March.
In response, beautiful Ewan refused to appear on ‘Good Morning Britain‘, for he is an angel:
Was going on Good Morning Britain, didn’t realise @piersmorgan was host. Won’t go on with him after his comments about #WomensMarch

Morgan handled the situation with the grace and aplomb characteristic of right-wing talking heads, reading the offending tweet on air and expressing his belief that actors should keep their opinions to themselves, which he reiterated on social media:
Sorry to hear that @mcgregor_ewan – you should be big enough to allow people different political opinions. You’re just an actor after all.

The official ‘Good Morning Britain‘ Twitter page weighed in, too, with a decidedly weird attempt at defusing the tension:
Uh-oh… where’s @mcgregor_ewan? Maybe he wants to avoid the tension of knowing @piersmorgan‘s wife has the hots for him?
— Good Morning Britain (@GMB) January 24, 2017
Well, yeah, I’m sure a lot of people have the hots for him. Either way, nice one, mate.
