Ah excuse me please, somebody!?! A little help here! OUR Keith Urban – who is hands down the most likeable mentor on the Australia version of The Voice – has apparently accepted a spot on the judging panel for the next season of American Idol, the traitor.
Alarming news of this devastating betrayal has come from a Hollywood Reporter source who says that Keith “is going to be a judge on the next series of Idol [and] has agreed to take a third seat for a salary of $3 million to $4 million.”
I know that Keith’s country music spiritual home Nashville is in America, but we need him here for the next season of The Voice to sing along to enough pop songs to make us question whether he is actually a human-shaped jukebox, and use reality television jargon like “collaborative spirit”, “unforgettable journey” and “deep connection” in a manner that, quite miraculously, is tolerable enough it doesn’t make your skin crawl???
This drama is set to ‘to be continued’ for the moment – at least until Keith’s reps officially confirm or deny The Idol gig; but if the story is true who could possibly replace Keith on The Voice?
