Entries Now Open For Optus One80 Project

Want to be a filmmaker but don’t have the cash to hit Cannes? Get your skates on because entries to the Optus One80 Project close Friday 14 January 2011.

The OPTUS ONE80PROJECT is an opportunity for local aspiring TV makers to turn their good idea into a big shot at the small screen. The comp invites anyone with a good idea for an hour long drama to submit a 180 second pilot and an accompanying treatment. This is then judged by an expert panel of industry specialists, which will ultimately be produced and aired on MTV in Australia, online and on mobile = major exposure.

The top 10 entries will be short-listed and judged in the Judges’ Choice category by the dudes from Blue Tongue Films, among others.

The Blue Tongue Films guys (namely, Joel and Nash Edgerton, David Michod, Tony Lynch, Kieran Darcy-Smith, Luke Doolan, Spencer Susser) are doing major things at the moment: they just won 10 AFIs for their film “Animal Kingdom”, and also picked up with “Best Creative Collective” at the GQ Men Of The Year awards… Among them they’ve got some serious hook-ups.

Hurry and get your entry in.
