Emma Stone Reveals That She Chose Her Name Because Of Baby Spice

Emma Stone

The ever-delightful Emma Stone recently appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, and it turns out that she’s a pretty major Spice Girls fan. She saw them live in the 90s, she saw their past reunion shows, and she’s pretty confident she’ll get tickets to the upcoming tour.

However, the depths of her love for the British girl power pop group go way beyond that. “Growing up, I was super blonde,” the star told the host. “And my real name is Emily, but I wanted to be called Emma because of Baby Spice. And guess what? Now I am.”

To see if she is truly a Baby Spice, Fallon made her take a Buzzfeed quiz to see which Spice Girl she actually is. The results of those things are pretty conclusive, and we won’t spoil the result, but you can check it out below.

It’s unclear if Emma Bunton realised just how greatly she influenced the young Emma Stone, but she certainly does now:

Stone, who recently appeared in the trippy Netflix series Maniac alongside Jonah Hill, can next be seen alongside Olivia Colman and Rachel Weisz in the period drama The Favourite.

She is set to reunite with her old pals in next years’s Zombieland 2, and has also signed on to star as the title character in the upcoming Cruella
