Emilia Clarke Headed For A Galaxy Far, Far Away W/ Role In Han Solo Movie

The Mother of Dragons is set to join the Mother of Spinoffs, with news Emilia Clarke has been tapped as the female lead in the upcoming Han Solo ‘Star Wars’ movie.

StarWars.com  announced the Game of Thrones alum will join Alden Ehrenreich and your boi Donald Glover – previously cast as Han Solo and a young Lando Calrissian, respectively – in the hotly-anticipated film, which is a standalone set prior to the original Star Wars trilogy.

Clarke’s character doesn’t yet have a name, but we know she’ll join a “dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures.”

The as-yet-untitled film will be headed up by directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who are known for their work on The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street and the Brooklyn Nine-Nine pilot, and is set to hit the big screen in 2018.
