While a bunch of famous folk have shared their own stories of abortion on Twitter, Em Rata posted a different form of protest.

The model dropped a nude selfie on Instagram accompanied by a lengthy take-down caption aimed at the “25 old white men voted” who voted to pass the bill.

“This week, 25 old white men voted to ban abortion in Alabama even in cases of incest and rape,” she began.

“These men in power are imposing their wills onto the bodies of women in order to uphold the patriarchy and perpetuate the industrial prison complex by preventing women of low economic opportunity the right to choose to not reproduce. The states trying to ban abortion are the states that have the highest proportions of black women living there.”

She concludes, “This is about class and race and is a direct attack on the fundamental human rights women in the US deserve and are protected by under Roe vs. Wade. Our bodies, our choice.”

The bill, passed 25-6 in Alabama’s Republican-led Senate, would be a near-total ban on abortion in the state, via Variety.

Doctors could receive up to 99 years in prison for performing an abortion, and the law only allows exceptions “to avoid a serious health risk to the unborn child’s mother,” for ectopic pregnancy and if the “unborn child has a lethal anomaly.”

Alabama is the latest state to push forward restriction abortion bills, as just last week, Georgia passed a law that would ban abortions if a fetal heartbeat can be detected. Two other states, Ohio and Mississippi, have passed similar legislation.
