Yesterday, tech billionaire Elon Musk and singer Grimes announced they had downloaded their first baby together: a precious little bub apparently called X Æ A-12. It’s a boy, if you couldn’t tell.
Musk announced the baby’s birth and name via his favourite medium of choice – Twitter replies to his raging passionate fanbase.

X Æ A-12 Musk

Musk is nothing if not a notorious shitposter, which is a perfectly noble profession except that in Musk’s case it sometimes wipes billions of dollars off the Tesla share price. The chances that he’s joking about his son being called “X Æ A-12” are fair-to-middling, not least because it’s not a legal name in the state of California.
But we also can’t be sure. If anyone’s parents are going to call their kid something that sounds like a virus from the year 3,000, it’s X Æ A-12’s. And so of course the internet bound together for a glorious 12 hours to meme the shit out of this newborn’s name.
