Dwayne Johnson Says He Hasn’t Spoken To Tyrese Since Their ‘Fast’ Drama

In case you were wondering how things are going between Dwayne Johnson and his Fast & Furious series co-star Tyrese Gibson, the answer is apparently … not great. During a recent interview to promote his new film Skyscraper, Johnson revealed that the pair have not actually spoken since Gibson accused him of trying to make the popular film franchise all about himself.

Johnson was a guest on Andy Cohen‘s Watch What Happens Live when a caller asked about their supposed feud; he responded that, from his perspective, the drama was “one-sided”, with Gibson as the sole instigator. He said:

“That whole thing with Tyrese, it was pretty disappointing because I had been friends with Tyrese for a very long time. I always feel like a beef requires two people to actually jump in it, and it was pretty one-sided, and he had voiced his opinion a lot on social media. Apparently, he was going through some stuff, too, in his personal life. But, no, we haven’t talked and I don’t see where we would and, to me, there’s no need to have a conversation.”

The trouble started late last year, when it was announced that Universal were producing Fast spin-off starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. Gibson was upset that the pair, late additions to the franchise, were hogging up so much attention, and that Fast 9 might be delayed as a result.

He accused Johnson of not replying to calls and messages, and threatened to retire his character from the series if the spin-off went ahead. As of right now, however, IMDB lists Gibson as one of the stars of the next Fast, along with Vin Diesel and Lucas Black.
