DRENCH YOURSELF: A 10-Year Anniversary Special Of ‘The Hills’ Is Happening

It was 10 years ago that Lauren “LC” Conrad revved her black convertible up the Pacific Coast Highway towards Hollywood, a lifelong rivalry with bestie-turned-arch nemesis Heidi Montag and our hearts.
MTV’s The Hills looms so large in the lexicon of our cultural identity that pretty much none of the cast – not Lauren, Heidi, Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge, Justin Bobby Brescia or Spencer Pratt – have managed to totally shirk the ‘characters’ they played.
Like, they keep reaching for reaching for something in the distance, so close they can almost taste it, but nothing quite stacks up to the catfights and camaraderie of the Laguna Beach crew.
LC has at least decided to embrace her start in life, answering our prayers with an anniversary reunion special that’s to be called “The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now”.
Announcing the v. v. v. v. exciting news in a lengthy blog post on her site, the reality TV OG said she celebrated the show’s 10 year birthday by doing “something I haven’t done in over a decade; I watched the pilot episode of our show.”
“As hard as it is to look back (other than watching the pilot, I haven’t watched any episodes since they first aired), it brings me a lot of joy to see that now, despite all the challenges we faced together back then, each of us seems to have found what we were looking for.”
Except maybe Speidi.
She went onto explain that why there’s nothing more perfect than a ‘The Hills’ reunion of sorts to h/t the show’s 10 year anniversary.

“I spent a lot of time thinking about how I would like to honor this anniversary and in the end, I just wanted to do something as a thank you to the fans. So I will be partnering with MTV on a special project that will air on August 2nd at 10PM. We will be having an honest conversation about what it was really like living with cameras for so many years (spoiler alert: it was super weird), sharing some behind-the-scene secrets, and showing some of my life today.”
LC doesn’t mention if she’ll be joined by any of the other key players from her past The Hills, but we live in hope.
Either way, it’s going to be an emosh trip down memory lane so start preppin’ that waterproof mascara.
“The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now” will air on August 2 at 10pm on MTV.
