The Dexter Reboot Teaser Is Finally Here & We Better Get The Ending We Deserve This Time

Roll out your plastics, ‘cos Dexter has unleashed both a teaser trailer and a release date for New Blood, its revival series. Will fans finally get the ending they deserve after [checks notes] eight years? You’d bloody hope so.

Dexter: New Blood, consisting of ten episodes, picks up a decade after that 2013 finale. The one and only Michael C. Hall returns as the titular character who lives in the fictional Upstate New York small town of Iron Lake (very cool name) under the assumed name Jimmy Lindsay.

Dexter may be embracing his new wholesome life, but in the wake of some unexpected events in this close-knit community, his Dark Passenger beckons. Dun, dun, DUN.

Clancy Brown, who has featured in titles from Avatar: The Last Airbender to The Crown, plays the primary antagonist Kurt Caldwell, the unofficial mayor of Iron Lake.

The cast also includes Julia Jones (The MandalorianAlano Miller (Sylvie’s Love), Johnny Sequoyah (Believe), and Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird).

Clyde Phillips has returned as showrunner, which could go either way to be honest, but fans are very hopeful Dexter: New Blood will give us the ending we deserve.

New Blood will also herald the return of Jennifer Carpenter, whose character Debra was killed in the original series finale. According to TVLine, Carpenter will appear via a flashback sequence. John Lithgow will also feature in the series in a similar way as Arthur Mitchell, otherwise known as the Trinity Killer.

Dexter: New Blood is slated to premiere Sunday, November 7 on Showtime in the States. Over here, it’s coming soon to Paramount+ Australia.

Have a go at the trailer, below. It’s basically Dexter yearning after a wide range of very, very shiny knives.

How long do you think it’ll take before Dexter cracks? Couple of episodes? 15 minutes? I don’t know, but I’m just hoping we get Dexter seasons 1 or 4 vibes again. Goooood stuff.
