Demi Lovato’s Backup Dancer Pens Open Letter Asking Fans Not To Blame Anyone

Demi Lovato‘s longtime friend and backup dancer Dani Vitale has broken her silence following the singer’s apparent overdose last week.

Taking to Instagram, Vitale penned a lengthy open letter to fans asking them not to blame her or other people close to the singer for what happened.

“I care about Demi just like all of you do,” Dani wrote. “I have not said anything about this situation until now because her recovery has been of the most importance. I was not with Demi when the incident happened, but I am with her now, and will continue to be because she means the world to me just as she does to all of you.”

She continued, “There is no need for any negativity towards the ones who care about Demi at this time. There is too much of it in this world as it is. I know you’re all feeling lost without her at this moment in time. Remember that you have always been a community of Lovatics who LOVE. Please remember that when you take out your phones and start typing. Remember that we all love her more than we can ever put into words. Please continue to send her love during her recovery.”

She also turned off the commenting option on the post so that her followers could not comment or ask her questions about the incident.

Following the 25-year-old’s apparent heroin overdose last Tuesday, strict security measures have been put in place at the hospital where the singer is currently recovering.

An insider told Us Weekly that only Lovato’s mother has been given clearance to visit her room.

“The hospital has placed two security guards outside of her room and has been instructed to not let anyone that Demi’s mom hasn’t approved to visit her,” says the source.

“The entire floor is basically on lockdown with the rooms next to hers remaining vacant to give her the upmost privacy.”
