Yesterday, in covering the news that Milo Ventimiglia confirmed his – and by extension, Jess‘s – involvement in the Netflix-backed reunion series of Gilmore Girls, we (specifically me, a newly minted 30-year-old man) wrote the following.

A statement which I stood by 1,000%.
And then after getting to work this morning, this bloody item of news started circulating everywhere. So just… everyone hold hands and we’ll get through this together, ok?
It’s now confirmed that Jared Padalecki will, in fact, be returning to Stars Hollow for the limited-run reunion series of the show, reprising his role as Dean Forester for the four episode season.
Dean, the first boyfriend for Rory Gilmore – and the one who should DEFINITELY LEAVE HER ALONE FOREVER, THANK YOU – was featured in the series’ pilot and remained a central character of the show right through Season 5.
This means that all three of Rory’s major boyfriends – Dean, Jess, and Logan – will all feature in some way in the revival series.
Along with Padalecki, there is now confirmation that both David Sutcliffe (as Rory’s father Christopher Hayden) and Danny Strong (as Paris Geller‘s long-term partner Doyle McMaster) will also be featured in the new series.
Seriously though. Dean can get in the goddamned bin.

WHO EVEN SAYS THAT. YOU WERE MARRIED, YOU DICK.
