David Lynch In Family Guy Spin Off

David Lynch: Genius auteur of creepy surreal cinema. Entrepreneur behind charitable organic coffee enterprise. Former lover of Isabella “most beautiful woman in the world” Rossellini. Voice behind strangely familiar-looking bartender in Family Guy spin off?

Yep: David Lynch has gone 2D as a David-Lynch-lookalike bartender, Gus, for an episode of The Cleveland Show – the slightly more PC sister of Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy.

After the episode aired in the U.S. Lynch confirmed his vocal contribution via twitter:

American magazine TV Guide spoke to the series co-creator Mike Henry about recruiting Lynch for the part. He said: “We first had David read for the part of Cleveland’s closeted boss, Mr. Waterman, but he wasn’t quite right – we needed someone who came off more obviously closeted. Instead, we created the role of Gus for him and it’s a much more natural fit. Besides, we get to throw in a little Lynch homage now and then – like a reference to dancing midgets.”

Let’s hope so.
