David Letterman Has A New Netflix Show, And Obama Will Be His First Guest

David Letterman retired from television in 2015, leaving his post at the Late Show to work on cultivating a mighty beard, but it seems that the elder statesman of talk shows just couldn’t stay away, and he’ll be returning to TV with a new show on Netflix this month.

Entitled My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman, the show is set to premiere on January 12, with a relaxed format of a single one-hour episode per month, and he has booked some serious heavy-hitters to appear.

Former US president Barack Obama, who was known for appearing on the Late Show  is set to be the first guest, and oh boy, we’re betting these two will have quite a bit to talk about. It will mark Obama’s first talk show appearance since he left office last January.

As for the other guests, the show has announced some serious heavy-hitters for its first six-episode run, including actor George Clooney, activist Malala Yousafzai, rapper and music mogul Jay-Z, comedian Tina Fey and radio host Howard Stern.

In a brief teaser trailer to introduce the show, Letterman said: “I had a show for a long time. Then I didn’t have a show for a long time, and I can’t tell you how great it is to be out of the damn house. Wow.” You can check out the teaser below, before the show arrives next week:
